Surrey Hills Rehab are a Foot Drop Assessment Centre.

Our therapists can assess and prescribe for ‘off the shelf’ Foot Drop orthotics such as the Turbomed, SaeboStep, Foot-Up, Boxia or make specialist casts for serial casting or trial with FES. We also work alongside and refer to specialist orthotists

A Foot Drop assessment takes about 90mins. We review your medical history and the cause of the Foot Drop, what has and hasn't helped yet and why, and what the foot drop is impacting on.

Then a physical assessment of your foot, whole leg alignment, balance and walking and if possible running and jumping ability to see what are the best available options to manage the footdrop.

You can then try one of our various assessment orthotics if required, such as the TurboMed, SaeboStep, Boxia, Foot Up. If these are successful we then review the impact of these on your ability and function and record this.

You then receive a written report for you/your GP/orthotist with a prescription for the TurboMed if that is the most appropriate for you.

Once a year we also run a free Foot drop assessment service in memory of our friend and colleague Sarah Read who proudly wore her TurboMed to enable her to return to work as a NeuroPhysiotherapist.
