Acquired Brain injury
Surrey Hills Rehab have extensive experience in treating people with mild to severe acquired brain injury. Our NeuroPhysiotherapists have worked in specialist inpatient and community NeuroRehabilitation services for adults and children. We work alongside Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists and Rehabilitation Consultants for goal-orientated, multi-disciplinary rehabilitation.
Stroke
Surrey Hills Rehab have extensive experience in treating people with stroke, from within specialist stroke units and community stroke services in the local area. We work alongside Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists and Rehabilitation Consultants for goal-orientated, multi-disciplinary rehabilitation. We run a monthly peer support group with Surrey Stroke Association which is free to attend. We also run a weekly Young Stroke Group for those of working age to exercise together whilst also gaining peer support and are affiliated with Different Strokes with their bursary scheme.
Multiple Sclerosis
Surrey Hills Rehab have extensive experience in treating people in the early and advanced stages of Multiple Sclerosis. Whether it’s Functional Strength training in the gym, or specialist Spasticity and Postural Management our team have the skills to support your needs. We also run a weekly exercise group subsidised by the Surrey MS Society
Parkinson’s Disease
Surrey Hills Rehab are accredited PD Warrior instructors and run 6 groups per week at 3 different levels, including a Saturday morning group for those of working age and young onset Parkinson’s. Some assessments can be funded through the Guildford and South Surrey PDUK branch if you are a member.
Transverse Myelitis
Surrey Hills Rehab are part of the Transverse Myelitis Society NeuroPhysio Bursary scheme https://www.myelitis.org.uk/our-services.html offering 2 sessions funded by TM Society for those that have exhausted NHS therapy and rehabilitation options available to them.
Functional Neurological Disorders
Surrey Hills Rehab have a special interest in Functional Neurological Disorders and Kim Wilson used to work in the FND rehabilitation unit at NHNN London. We hold a free quarterly peer support group for people living with this often isolating condition. This is held in conjunction with the organisation FND Hope https://fndhope.org/
Foot Drop
